It is our vision to operate a fully functional volunteer first responder service in Jamaica. We have therefore started the pilot for this project, dubbed the Jamaica Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) Negril. JEMS Negril is a public service that will provide pre-hospital care to citizens in medical emergencies and transport patients to the public hospitals for further treatment. The volunteer first responders are trained and ready to go. We have already purchased one (1) ambulance and need two more for this pilot phase of the project. The foundation is working with its partners the Negril Chamber of Commerce (NCC) to establish this transformational community initiative. The NCC has committed to assisting us and have already earmarked land for the construction of the Command Centre to serve as the headquarters for JEMS Negil. We will work together to in building out the space.
Our immediate goal is to raise $250,000 US which will go towards the purchase of 2 more ambulances and begin the construction of the command center building started. It will take commitment and ongoing funding to maintain and make it sustainable. Please help us to make this vision a reality by making a donation toward the ‘Ambulance Fundraiser’.
